The WHO Academy says its online platform now provides learning opportunities in 19 languages. It lists 269 courses in English and 250 versions in other languages, including 73 in Spanish and 15 in Chinese. More languages are being developed.

The Academy uses localization as well as translation. Content is adapted, tested and reviewed for different cultures, professional settings, devices and levels of internet access. Artificial intelligence can speed up this work, but WHO says human experts remain necessary for accuracy, quality and cultural sensitivity.
