EU Plans a Network for Emergency Teams
Police, firefighters and medical teams could communicate more easily.
Emergency teams need to share information during fires, floods and other dangers. Their radio and communication systems do not always work together across European borders.
The European Commission proposed a new shared system. It would give police, firefighters, medical workers and civil protection teams secure communication, including in places where normal ground networks do not work. The plan still needs to move through the EU process.
