The UN General Assembly has adopted a declaration on sea-level rise. The World Meteorological Organization welcomed it in a September 25 report.
The declaration supports improved scientific observations, risk assessments and early warnings. It also calls for long-term planning to help coastal communities cope with increasing risks.
