Astronomical Reconstruction Reopens a Van Gogh Question

Name: __________________________ Date: __________________

Read the story

A study published on October 22 proposes that The Starry Night resembles a July 1889 predawn sky. Its authors combined astronomical reconstruction with historical evidence.

The interpretation challenges the conventional June dating. However, a resemblance cannot conclusively date completion, and the artist may have combined observations from different nights.
