Brighton & Hove Albion secured their first win at the Etihad Stadium by beating Manchester City 1–0 in the Premier League on October 31. The result followed Brighton's penalty-shootout defeat to City in a cup match earlier in the week.

Midfielder Yasin Ayari struck after 11 minutes, giving the visitors a lead they would defend for the rest of the contest. The Brighton club report identified the goal as his third of the season.

City sought an equaliser, but goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen and Brighton's defence preserved the advantage through the second half.
