Partial Israel Election Results Point to Coalition Talks

Name: __________________________ Date: __________________

Read the story

Israel is counting votes from its October 27 parliamentary election. A partial count reported on October 28 left both the bloc supporting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the bloc led by Gadi Eisenkot short of the 61 seats needed for a majority.

At the time of that update, some ballots had not been counted. The parliament has 120 seats, and parties may have to negotiate a coalition, or an agreement to govern together. The figures can still change.
