Read the story

After weeks of protests, France's government has promised changes to education. Students have raised concerns about school conditions and Parcoursup, the website used to apply for university courses.

Ministers say the admissions platform will be changed in 2027 and replaced in 2028. They also plan a limit of 28 students for some first-year high school classes, starting with disadvantaged schools in 2027.

The measures were announced on October 26. The new admissions system still needs to be designed, and some student groups have called for further protests.
