Google’s Space Computer Writes a Poem

Name: __________________________ Date: __________________

Read the story

Google says a computer on its test satellite has written a short poem in space. The satellite is part of a project called Suncatcher. It was launched on October 1.

A team on Earth sent a request to an artificial intelligence, or AI, model on the satellite. The model made a poem about being in space and sent the answer back.

Google plans more tests to see how its chips work in the heat and radiation of space. The company also plans to test two connected satellites in 2027.
