Could One Black Hole Become Two?
Name: __________________________ Date: __________________
Read the story
Scientists have studied whether one black hole could split into two. They used calculations, not a telescope picture of a split. The University of Southern Denmark described the work on October 23.
For ordinary black holes that do not spin, physical laws prevent this. Very fast spinning may leave a small possibility. Even then, the two parts must move apart instead of falling back together.
