Pakistan's army chief visited Tehran on Thursday to meet Iranian leaders and support possible new talks between the United States and Iran.

The talks come after weeks of war in the region and a fragile ceasefire that has slowed the fighting but not ended the tension. Officials say Pakistan could again host meetings if both sides agree.

The White House said more talks may happen in Islamabad, but no final decision has been made yet. At the same time, attacks continued between Israel and Hezbollah across the Lebanon border.

The diplomacy matters because the recent war damaged ports, hurt trade, and shook energy markets. Leaders now hope more talks can stop a new round of fighting and bring more stability to the region.
